Stacey Rey named Acting Principal of Beaverlodge Elementary School

Ms. Stacey Rey has been named Acting Principal of Beaverlodge Elementary School (BES) for the 2024-2025 school year.

Ms. Rey began teaching at BES in 2007 and was appointed as Assistant Principal in 2020. Throughout her years at BES, and in addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has held leadership positions as the school’s Inclusive Education Coordinator, ECS Resource Teacher, and Leveled Literacy Intervention Teacher.

Ms. Rey holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, certifications in Level B Assessment and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and training in trauma management, inclusive education, Indigenous studies, and autism. She says she is excited to continue her BES journey as Principal and is looking forward to its challenges and rewards. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to contribute to the continued success and growth of BES, and look forward to working with the dedicated staff, students, and community members. I am a former BES student, and believe we have a great school and community.” Ms. Rey says creating an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and successful is very important to her.

Ms. Rey will take over for Mr. Andrew Lojczyc, who after 32 years will be retiring from Education. He says he is excited for his retirement, but will miss the BES students, staff, and families. “I am confident that Ms. Rey will continue to make BES a wonderful place to be, and I am excited for her to take on this new adventure.” Ms. Rey will take on her new role in September.
