Pembina Pipeline donates $8,000 to Harry Balfour School playground

Harry Balfour School is extremely grateful to Pembina Pipeline for its recent donation of $8,000 for the replacement school’s playground.

Harry Balfour School Principal Ms. Jen Clevette says she is thrilled with the amount of community support the school has received. “We are so thankful to Pembina Pipeline and our other supporters for their help in building a beautiful learning environment for our students. Thanks to a fence that will be installed along Range Road 53, we’ll be able to develop the front of our school. We’re looking at a single structure playground and other play equipment for this area.” Ms. Clevette says the donation from Pembina Pipeline will go toward this phase of the project, which will also include a sports field.

Harry Balfour School will also receive a snow hill thanks to Smash & Sons Contracting Ltd. “Smash & Sons has been a phenomenal supporter of our school. They have provided hours of expertise and equipment, and plenty of soil for our outdoor classroom area. With the leftover soil, they decided to donate an additional day of equipment and support and are going to build us a snow hill for our students to enjoy.” Ms. Clevette says Phases I and II of the playground project are nearing completion and she is excited to see construction of Phase III begin later this year.

Harry Balfour School would like to thank the community and local businesses for their continued support during the construction of its replacement school, which will welcome students when school returns this fall.
