Northern Alberta Teacher Award
The Northern Alberta Teacher Award (NATA) operates as a return-of-service model, in which funds are dispersed once the recipient has been employed as a teacher in a northern Alberta community for a minimum of two years.
Award recipients will be chosen while in their last year of a Bachelor of Education program from an accredited post-secondary institution in Alberta. Successful applicants must complete a two- or three-year stay, teaching in a northern Alberta school division. Once they have fulfilled their teaching commitment, they will receive the monetary award.
Bachelor of Education students must be able and willing to complete full-time employment in northern Alberta:
- for two years to receive a $9,000 award; or
- for three years to receive a $18,000 award.
Applications for the Northern Alberta Teacher Award are being accepted until 9:00 a.m. on January 19, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in March 2026.
Eligible candidates can apply by completing the form at Northern Alberta Teacher Award (NATA) Application 2025-26.
